2005 Pride Cabernet Sauvignon
Showcasing the diversity within our mountaintop Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, this powerful, extracted wine delivers layers of fruit, cocoa and spice. Super-ripe aromas of black cherry and blueberry are accented by subtle tar and soy notes. The first sip coats the palate with black fruit, coffee and the weighty tannins that provide the firm structure of a true mountain Cab.

Good ruby-red. Aromatically inviting nose offers dark cherry, mocha, tobacco, coffee, licorice and flowers. Supple and rather suave, with a restrained sweetness to the somewhat cool flavors of medicinal cherry and anise. Finishes with substantial tannins that call for a couple years of patience. - January 17, 2008 Wine Enthusiast, February 2008

A big, juicy young Cab that impresses for sheer flashiness, yet needs time for its edges to soften. The ripe blackberry and cassis fruit is deep and generous, with nuances of smoky oak and sweet herbs. But the tannins are very strong and astringent. Needs cellar time. Best after 2009. Cellar Selection. - January 03, 2008 Wine Advocate, Dec. 28, 2007, Issue 174

The deep ruby/purple-colored 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (58% from Napa and 42% from Sonoma) possesses a full-bodied mouthfeel as well as loads of cassis fruit, and smoky, subtle oak in the background. Round, plump, and hedonistic, it should drink well for a decade.
